How it works

Method

Length and weight values are multiplied by the factor of the source unit to reach the base unit (metre or kilogram) and divided by the factor of the target unit. Factors are the exact international definitions (1 in = 0.0254 m, 1 lb = 0.45359237 kg). Temperatures are converted through Kelvin: K = °C + 273.15 and °C = (°F − 32) × 5 ÷ 9.

Units

Length: mm, cm, m, km, in, ft, yd, mi. Weight: g, kg, oz, lb, st. Temperature: °C, °F, K.

Examples

  • 1 km = 0.6214 mi
  • 100 °C = 212 °F
  • 1 lb = 0.4536 kg

Limitations

Units must be of the same kind. Results are rounded to the configured decimal places, so very small values can display as 0. Negative lengths or weights and temperatures below absolute zero are rejected.
